You’ve heard it all before…
“Just put them down drowsy but awake.”
“They should be sleeping through by now.”
“You’re making a rod for your own back.”

About Hannah...
Hi, I’m Hannah —a midwife, lactation consultant (IBCLC), and mum. I’m also the founder of Held Midwifery and host of the Changing Birth Podcast.
With over a decade of experience in perinatal care, I support women and families through pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep, and the huge transition into motherhood. I’m a Registered and Endorsed Midwife working in private practice, a Childbirth Educator, and an accredited Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums) Practitioner.
In my approach, I bring together the latest in neuroscience, lactation science, sleep science, attachment psychology, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). This holistic, evidence-based lens helps me guide families in a way that supports both infant development and maternal mental health.
I created Held in Sleep & Motherhood because I know how confusing, conflicting, and overwhelming the advice can be in those early weeks and months. You deserve support that’s grounded in science and compassion—and a roadmap that honours your instincts, your baby’s biology, and your emotional wellbeing.
This course is everything I wish every mum could access in those early, blurry days. I’m so glad you’re here 🤍
